Known as the crown jewel of paris, the hallmark of modernist architecture or the world's biggest eye sore- the Eiffel Tower is pretty much the most recognizable building on earth and the de facto national symbol of France.

The Louvre
The Louvre is where the Mona Lisa is held. It is also the number 1 spot for looking at people looking at art. Fun fact: the Louvre has art beyond the Mona Lisa, but who cares about that?

Arc de TriompheImage result for Arc de Triomphe

Arc de Triomphe is like, I guess, 90 percent of Paris, a memorial to one of the most historically imperfect revolutions, and those who died for ideas we still support today. Surprisingly not protested more.

the city - la ville
post - comptoir
the eiffel tower - Tour Eiffel
Sacre-Coeur

Jardin du Luxembourg

The Luxembourg gardens aren't in Luxembourg, nor are they dedicated to Rosa Luxemburg. They are however, a beautiful reminder of history- a space kept empty to show how little money ment to the owners- contrast with a parking lot in Las Vegas.

the grass - le herbe
the flowers - Les fleurs
the houses - les maisons

Notre Dame Cathedral

Pretty much the reason heavy metal is a thing, the Notre Dame Cathedral not only has a football team named after it, it also is seen as one of the best sites on earth. The church overshoes all of us, and imparts a fear of...God? Maybe, but a fear, for sure.

Versailles
When asked about the impact French revolution, Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai said "It is too soon to say," in 1960. Whatever the cost, we can see the benefit to at least a few people.

Sainte-Chapelle
If Notre Dame was Iron Maiden, this would be emperor. Much taller, darker and more well, gothic, Sainte-Chapelle induces a sort of existential terror, even though picutres.

Les Invalides

Once again, we are forced to think about the revolution. Here, we must think about the direct cost of war- blood. Here we can see the cool hardware, and be reminded that these were made by people to kill other people, and that under different circumstances, these things could have been used on us.

napoleon's corpse - Le cadavre de napoleon
tanks - le char

Entree: Grain- grain
Dessert: bread - pain
Tuileries Garden
The early history of Tuileries Garden is the same as much of French parks. Yet, after the revolution, the park was returned to the people.  Managed by the state, it begs us to ask, where does the society end and the state start? Is land owned by the government owned by the people? Does it matter when you are sitting in a park for free?

soil - sol
trees - des arbres
the Louvre - le Louvre
the eiffel tower - la tour Eiffel
Entree: Salad- Salad

Pont Alexandre III
Pont Alexandre III is one of the prettiest bridges on earth. Like, this is a damn fine bridge. It ranks up there with the modern masterpiece of the Golden Gate Bridge and the terror of that half bombed out bridge in East St. Louis.

gold - or
water - eau

How can we forget the strangest impact of the French Revolution? The cold war. The Hotel de Ville shows one end point: liberal capitalism can support a building like this, a heart that bleeds gold..
ice - le glace
spire - flèche
covering - couvrant
ice skaters - patineurs
bushes - des buissons
entree:Potée Lorraine
dessert :crème glacée
 Disneyland Paris
Disneyland is pretty much hell. I refuse to believe it isn't the same way in Paris. Disneyland opens a hole in your being that can only be filled with funnel cake.

entree:fromage de tête

Catacombs of Paris.
This place is the most metal out of anywhere in Paris. Like, it's a bone tunnel. I can't even think of a band that is heavy enough for this. Like, I guess if you just had a dog barking over a base, it might be close to how metal this place is.
skulls - crânes
bones - des os
dripping - égouttage
existential terror - la terreur existentielle
so many bones - tant d' os
(don't eat here please)

The Latin Quarter
Is there anything better than good food? Good food for cheap. I've found immense pleasure in learning about a culture by eating it, and I'm sure you could do the same here.

Entree: des sandwiches

Montmartre
History is pretty much inescapable in this world. In montmarte, we are reminded of much more history. We see buildings older then us, we live in apartment buildings older then the countries we grew up in. Thus, we are forced to think about what impact we have? Will it be a positive one? Will we be remembered? Will our biggest impact be our garbage?
bricks - briques
